This podcast is brought to you by Sage Hill, a social impact organization. Our mission is to help people be who they're made to be so that they can do what they're made to do. Find more resources to live fully, love deeply, and lead well at sagehillresources.com. Do you know that God has given us eight feelings to allow us to live fully in a tragic place? But you've been raised to believe that those are negative feelings. I'm telling you what, they're not negative feelings, but they hurt, and I don't like them. I don't like the feelings. That feeling sheets you have, I don't like them. I mean, who be wakes up, well, man, I can't wait to get hurt today. I can't wait to get so lonely, I want to die. I can't wait to get so sad, crushed by grief today. You're not made to like the feelings. You're made to face the feelings, okay, because of what they can do for you. Not because that makes you brave, it makes you human. And it puts you into position so that there's room for God to operate in your life because you're not sufficient unto yourself. Cursed is the man who trusts his own sufficiency, Jeremiah seventeen five. Even when prosperity comes, he won't see it. Cursed doesn't mean condemned. It means isolated from who you're made to be. Blessed is the man, Jeremiah 17 a, blessed is the man He's like a tree. The man who has confidence in God, who trusts in the Lord, which means whose heart is like a child before him so he can grow him up. So it'd be like a tree. His roots are in the water. In other words, your needs are in the water, drinking deeply. Said, Even when heat comes, the leaves will always be green. Even when drought comes, the tree will still bear fruit. In other words, trouble's coming. Trouble's coming. Trouble's coming, guaranteed. No doubt about it. Gonna happen. And it's gonna be your day in the barrel. Soon? Or your friend's day in the barrel? Or somebody you love's day in the barrel? You're going to the barrel. I mean, the rolling around, the pitching, throwing, frothing about, the warp and woof of the struggle of life is gonna happen to all of us and does.
